We are seeking individuals who would partner with Seraph to develop a locally based Seraph Group in select cities, growing to 30-50 new Seraph LPs within a 12-month time frame. Priority goes to current Seraph LPs. Co-GP will be responsible for bringing together qualified individuals who share Seraph’s vision and passion in angel investing. Seraph will provide support, hold information session and onboard new members. Co-GPs are invited to participate in investment screening, due diligence and monitoring portfolio companies if so desired. Some obvious candidates are individuals who are interested or have done angel investing; someone who may be currently in an angel group but unsatisfied with the group structure and process; a person who had a successful exit and is looking to build an investment portfolio. Location is flexible

Seraph Group is seeking a venture capital analyst to work closely with senior management to support successful investment and expansion of the firm. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, capable of analyzing and presenting financial data, and working in a small, fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Source, evaluate and screen investment opportunities
  • Research and perform due diligence tasks
  • Write memos, track, monitor, and report on portfolio companies
  • Construct and maintain distribution lists using CRM
  • Maintain and update portfolio investment valuations
  • Calculate and maintain investment performance metrics such as IRR, DPI, TVPI
  • Prepare financial reports and forecast models, applying reasonable assumptions and conclusions where applicable.
  • Primary liaison for Limited Partners and their interaction with Seraph’s investor portal
  • Track investments
  • Manage collection of co-investment interest and pro-rata allocations for each investment
  • Manage co-investment documentation
  • Work with partners on projects that help scale the firm
  • Update marketing material and websites

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, or computer science
  • 0-3 years of work experience in finance, investment, and technology
  • Understanding private company investment structures and terms
  • Understanding of VC and PE financial metrics
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Excel modeling and formulas
  • Proficient with PowerPoint charting and presentation slides
  • Able to design efficient work processes and tools
  • Understand financial statements
  • Independent worker, comfortable in autonomous environment
  • Preferred experience with Backstop Solutions, or Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Hubspot or other CRM
  • Preferred 2+ year Venture Capital or Private Equity experience
